Most of homeopathy is just alcohol. Turns out it heals and that is why it's also so addictive. Microdosing is beneficial for gut bacteria, but macrodosing does the opposite- damages cells not only of the skin but organs that are responsible for keeping everything in check. Only later it will get to your face in the form of pimples and a cracked elbow.

I am using homeopathy medicine ASF 6X, sepia 200 for my vitiligo without any trust and it worked, I got black spots on white patches as a result. I have experimented with allopathic medicine after homeo on huge trust like taking reconia, carofit D, vitiban tablets nothing worked for me.

"Homeopathy" is good for soothing your senses, or for moderately skilled use by someone who knows which plants can help heal a wound. Everyone knew about willow bark, and the ingredient we get from that is aspirin! But for curing cancer or any other horrible disease by claims not backed up by evidence.....yeahno.

I thought the visual at 0:41 was quite eye- opening in understanding homeopathy. But, I mean, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. How would adding fire to fire stop the original one? I call pseudoscience

If someone's heart stops they may give them fentanyl as it increases their heart rate to normal levels
5 tuntia sittenVary Olla
Funnier fact: fentanyl does not "cure" a heart attack. lol! How about next time actually learning about what you claim online before you spout off. Just a suggestion. p.s. - administration of opioids - or synthetic ones such as fentanyl - reduces pain and anxiety which can exacerbate an already stressed individual = and stress is hard on the heart. Also these medications can promote "vasodilation" - which helps to delivers more blood flow to the heart which needs it - as well as may have an impact on platelet aggregation. Since heart attacks are caused by clots ---------> and clots are formed from platelets = then any medication which reduces platelet aggregation helps to reduce the growth of blood clots.

"Never before in history have we enjoyed a comparable level of human health" - debatable. Yes, we live longer. But rates of obesity, rates of depression, anxiety, back problems from office work and driving etc definitely make current global health comparable to the benefits and downsides of historic conditions.

3 päivää sittenoxyharmonic
Yes, it really is. Vaccines work by using a small amount of inert / mostly inert pathogen - hence it is "curing like with like", or fighting fire with fire. Thats what I meant, not the levels of active substance, or all the other many differences and principles
3 päivää sittenSasame Kasai
No. No it's really not. Vaccines (or, at least most of Them) are used to prevent you from getting Symptoms in the First place by preparing your immune System for attacks by a certain Type of bacteria or virus. Homeopathy, aledgedly, cures all sorts of illnesses instead of preventing Them.

While the video was great, I find the last part of how modern medicine should learn from homeopathy to be a bit naive. How exactly do you propose we change the modern medical system that we can accommodate spending hours on a single patient visit? The entire incentive system makes it so that doctors get paid less and are seen as less valuable if they see fewer patients. Hospitals want to hire as few people as possible and have them be as efficient as possible to make as much money as possible. Consults and visits do not generate nearly as much revenue as procedures, treatments and tests. And talking with patients for a long time and making them feel happy often does little in terms of actually curing diseases. And all that time spent making everyone feel heard is time that medical professionals could be spending helping other people. So while it's a nice notion to say that modern medicine should pay attention to the human need of patients, doing so is a ridiculously hard task. Homeopathy only gets away with doing this because they're con artists. Of course they spend more time and make people like them better when their goal is to scam people out of their money. I would love to see a video in which how we could change the medical system to both be efficient and take care of the human need could be done.

How can you say there is no effect from substances found in nature? That sounds both desperate and dangerous at the same time. Just considering what marijuana does to you and poison ivy alone should make it clear nature is not to be fucking scoffed at. You just called every herbal medicine practitioner before white people, who use the same herbs in their medicine a damn liar. What's even more stupid is that in the same video you said that homeopathy has zero effect, you also said that it could cause more harm than help. Caucasians think they own facts. This documentary is very funny, not because it is accurate, but because it tries to falsely present itself as a "neutral" documentary. The sources of the documentary say it all: they only quote Internet pages of a German lobby called "Gesellschaft zur wissenschaftlichen Untersuchung von Parawissenschaften" or "Information Network Homeopath". Here in this commentary I will only stop at the few documents from reputable sites and skip the blog pamphlets. 1. In the video, classical homeopathy is mentioned, however in the desription cheatingly puts a meta-analysis published in 2017 by Mathie et al that does not evaluate classical homeopathy, but non-individualized homeopathy. The meta-analysis published in 2014 by the same author on individualized homeopathy is ignored: "Medicines prescribed in individualised homeopathy may have small, specific treatment effects. Findings are consistent with sub-group data available in a previous ‘global’ systematic review. The low or unclear overall quality of the evidence prompts caution in interpreting the findings. New high-quality RCT research is necessary to enable more decisive interpretation" (2014). Someone might criticize the conclusion on the grounds that it mentions that the trials were of low quality, but this refers to the evidence in general (both positive and negative). Even with this limitation, the meta-analysis was able to show that the set of higher quality trials with lower risk of bias demonstrated a robust and consistent effect greater than the placebo. 2. Kurzgesagt team cite as support the review published in 2015 by the Australian government, but ignore that in 2019 the director of the NHRMC was forced to acknowledge that: "Contrary to some claims, the review did not conclude that homeopathy was ineffective" (Source: Second Report released). The correct interpretation of the second report that the evidence was not "sufficient", this statement is very different from the one spread by the media saying that the report "had shown that homeopathy is placebo". This report was included in a systematic megareview, along with all global meta-analyses, and did not affect the outcome. The authors concluded: "In conclusion, evidence for the effectiveness of human and veterinary homeopathy in general, and in particular, of homeopathic treatment for infections, is available. Especially, individualized homeopathy demonstrates effects at all quality levels according to Cochrane criteria, even in the methodologically high-quality studies. As in most areas of veterinary medicine and medicine, further good/excellent studies are necessary" (2020). 3. The EASAC report is cited as support. It should be recalled that this report was not peer-reviewed and, suspiciously obviously cites the Mathie (2014) meta-analysis. At the time, Peter Fisher showed that the report had no scientific basis, but mere cherry picking: "The EASAC statement ‘cherry picks’ the evidence, systematically selecting negative publications and citing almost exclusively hostile commentary and opinion pieces. To take a few examples: in 2007 Homeopathy published a special issue on ‘Memory of Water’: this included 13 scientific papers.2 Of these, the EASAC statement references the only one which took a sceptical view. In claiming that there is no evidence beyond placebo the statement ignores the 43 published systematic reviews of homeopathy as a whole, individualized, or for specific conditions or groups of conditions. Of these 21 were clearly or tentatively positive and 9 inconclusive.3 It discusses only the Shang meta-analysis, ignoring the fact that it failed to meet elementary standards of quality and transparency.4 It did not reference the publications on which it was based; on the contrary all clues to their identity were removed. In another fundamental flaw the data were ‘dredged’: during the review process the inclusion criteria for study inclusion were changed from ‘high quality’ to ‘larger high quality’. It has since been shown that, had the goalposts not been moved and the meta-analysis conducted as originally intended, the result would have been positive.5 Its negative result was almost entirely due to a single large trial on prevention of muscle soreness in long-distance runners." (2017). 4. Finally, an article written by David Robert Grimmes and published in the Focus on Alternative and Complementary Therapies is cited. This article is not an experiment, but merely an essay attempting to demonstrate that it is "physically impossible" for homeopathy to work. The author starts from a faulty premise and selectively cites evidence that suits him. The article was published in 2012, it is quite widely outdated. The latest systematic review of the evidence to debunk the David Grimmes' nonsense was recently published. The review showed that there is evidence of high methodological quality that has been reproduced: "To conclude, the most promising techniques used so far are NMR relaxation, optical spectroscopy, and electrical impedance measurements. In these three areas, several sets of replicated high-quality experiments provide evidence for specific physicochemical properties of homeopathic preparations (2019)."

Jan 11 2021 Earlier today, the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) announced it had suspended the accreditation of the Society of Homeopaths (SoH). The PSA, the government watchdog who regulate healthcare regulators and registers, found that the SoH “did not appear to have prioritised public protection over professional interests in its handling of complaints or governance processes, which undermined confidence in its ability to ensure its registrants were compliant with its own Code of Ethics and position statements.” Previously...... the head of the UK National Health Service (NHS), Simon Stevens, publicly expressing his “serious concerns” about the “fundamentally flawed” practice of homeopathy. This occurred in a letter written by him on October 22, 2019, in conjunction with Stephen Powis, national medical director of the NHS, to the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) in connection with the accreditation of the Society of Homeopaths. The two public health experts were of the opinion that official accreditation of this system of medicine was responsible for giving the public a false impression that homeopathy was a form of treatment with scientific and clinical backing. They were responding to a request from the PSA in view of the possibility of granting reaccreditation to the Society.

How could they be incurable if they were cured??? lol! We call this coincidentally "an oxymoron". Just saying. Thus it is more likely they were not incurable ailments and that homeopathy did nothing towards resolution = making your claim happenstance. Illness in general reflects something amiss with the immune system which failed to rectify the problem. Yet sometimes the immune system will in time correct the underlying problem to resolve the illness which it contends. So administration of a supposed panacea during this timeframe in actuality plays no role in resolution making it little more than the placebo effect as alluded to in the video. If such treatments truly worked then we should see resolution at a level far above what might be expected to occur "naturally" anyways. In other words if say 40% of people recover on their own to some illness and when you administer allopathic medication that jumps to 80% resolution then you can say the medication shows efficacy. If you however give some homeopathic panacea and say 43% recover = not statistically relevant and thus the panacea does not work above the expected norm. Something new to think about.

And you believe this means something??? I guess it never occurred to you that politicians routinely pander to their base and thus one can see this in other countries besides India. As an example. There are rubepublican legislators in the US who periodically promote what amounts to pseudoscientific/medical beliefs. They do this - not because these things are real - but rather = because they have a large constituency whose votes they require to remain in office and thus they appeal to their ignorance and gullibility in order to do so. Moral of the story: perhaps you were not aware that India was one of the last places on the Earth where Smallpox raged before it was finally eradicated.............why?? Answer: because belief in such patent nostrum panaceas is long standing and runs strong in the culture there. Net result: considerable resistance to the Smallpox eradication effort which was opposed by a segment of the Indian medical and political culture there. Anyways in time commonsense prevailed and laws were passed mandating vaccination and Smallpox was eventually eradicated. In more recent times Polio is another example were once again in the northwest/east of the country where belief in such old wives tales treatments is strong and vaccination is opposed it also raged despite it be eradicated from pretty much the rest of the world. Fortunately once again the same pattern occurred and "wild" Polio was also eliminated from India thanks to concerted vaccination efforts in these regions - though it still exists across the border in Afghanistan and Pakistan for the same reasons. So never assume validity solely based upon things like political acceptance or advocacy as they as we see can be skewed as to what they represent and why. Instead rather always follow the credible science and look to see what the rest of the global scientific community has to say on a thing. Something new to think about.

the internet likes to mock everything faith based but gonna flinch when in a few years 1/3 of it is suiciding(already horendous suicide numbers in young people), somehow truth is good, SO faith is bad, which isn't a dichotomy, i just hope everything works out because mental health is not so easy to solve as following 3 logic steps, you in fact need to have faith in yourself and that things will get better, and logic is usually twisted into despair, i personally have no care about homeopathy, just replying off of the comment section

@Samuel S _사무엘 에스 the dilution you wrote is called 9C, 18 zeroes. Homeopathy is often 30C. That's 60 zeroes. They even do 1M, which is 1000C. That's 2000 zeroes. Even when they don't dilute much, a drop of oral menthol does nothing for muscle aches. It has to be applied locally. There is NOTHING in homeopathy that works.
21 päivä sittenSim Star
@Samuel S _사무엘 에스 those are all official statements based on thousands of studies. Homeopathy does not do anything because of insane dilution. The matter of peppermint is irrelevant to this matter.
21 päivä sittenSamuel S _사무엘 에스
@Sim Star I only believe in the ones that have been officially studied Peppermint: Peppermint contains menthol, which has a cooling effect on sore, achy muscles. It also has analgesic, antispasmodic, and anti-inflammatory properties. Helichrysum oil. Helichrysum relieves muscle spasms, inflammation, and pain. -WebMD But when people do 1 part per 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 then that’s worthless... I think you missed my point there... I absolutely do not believe in almost any form of homeopathy. But denying that peppermint helps relax muscles is like denying aloe Vera helps with burns.

@Samuel S _사무엘 에스 nothing in homeopathy works because there is nothing in it. Just sugar and alcohol. “The principles of homeopathy contradict known chemical, physical and biological laws and persuasive scientific trials proving its effectiveness are not available” Russian Academy of Sciences, Russia “Homeopathy should not be used to treat health conditions that are chronic, serious, or could become serious. People who choose homeopathy may put their health at risk if they reject or delay treatments for which there is good evidence for safety and effectiveness.” National Health and Medical Research Council, Australia “These products are not supported by scientific evidence.” Health Canada, Canada “Homeopathic remedies don’t meet the criteria of evidence based medicine.” Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Hungary “The incorporation of anthroposophical and homeopathic products in the Swedish directive on medicinal products would run counter to several of the fundamental principles regarding medicinal products and evidence-based medicine.” Swedish Academy of Sciences, Sweden “We recommend parents and caregivers not give homeopathic teething tablets and gels to children and seek advice from their health care professional for safe alternatives.” Food and Drug Administration, USA “There is little evidence to support homeopathy as an effective treatment for any specific condition” National Centre for Complementary and Integrative Health, USA “There is no good-quality evidence that homeopathy is effective as a treatment for any health condition” National Health Service, UK “Homeopathic remedies perform no better than placebos, and that the principles on which homeopathy is based are “scientifically implausible”” House of Commons Science and Technology Committee, UK

@Purr Cheeze Here’s the Aloe one We electronically searched relevant studies in MEDLINE, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, HealthSTAR, DARE, South-East Asia Database, Chinese Databases, and several Thai local Databases (1918-June 2004). Only controlled clinical trials for burn healing were included. There were no restrictions on any language of publication. Two reviewers independently extracted data on study characteristics, patient characteristics, intervention, and outcome measure. Four studies with a total of 371 patients were included in this review. Based on a meta-analysis using duration of wound healing as an outcome measure, the summary weighted mean difference in healing time of the aloe vera group was 8.79 days shorter than those in the control group (P=0.006). Peppermints The menthol in peppermint works as a decongestant, shrinking swollen membranes in the nose and making it easier to breathe, and also helps loosen mucus that has collected in the lungs. Peppermint may also help prevent a sickness from coming on in the first place Researchers monitored their sleep cycles with brain scans and found that lavender increased slow-wave sleep, instrumental for slowing heartbeat and relaxing muscles. Subjects slept more soundly on the lavender night. The group also reported feeling more energetic the next morning. Anyway I don’t wanna go all day... :|

The only ones I believe are plant based stuff that went under trials Like: *Peppermint:* relaxes lung tissue (Nice to breathe when I don’t have my inhaler, doesn’t get rid of asthma just keeps it from getting worse :) *Lavender:* the smell calms the body down, and helps produce melatonin *Aloe Vera:* can heal burns 60% faster. Okay this next one is weird :) *Ginger:* Helps with stomach issues Because it has a lot of antioxidants :D *Anyway that’s the only non medicine cures I believe in*

Blood letting was actually so popular in the past because it did improve some patients conditions, especially those with chronic renal disease. It was probably very over-used though and didn't do any good for a lot of people.
Uukausi sittenVary Olla
Letting of blood might by extension trigger an immunological response which might help to resolve an illness - or at least the symptoms of it. Yet doing so does not correct the underlying health imbalance which led to the illness in the first place = meaning the person may simply relapse after a time if the problem is idiopathic. Yet it also as you inferred caused the body to weaken and lots of people ended up worse and even dying. So a handful of lucky positive results does not justify a plethora of negative ones = so it is with homeopathy. Have a nice day.
